Bleeding Heart Tetra has white specs on fins.

I just bought a male bleeding heart tetra and only he has like shiny white specs on his fins. anything to be worried about and how should i fix it?

  1. Don't put him in your main tank....quarantine him for 4 weeks or he ll spread it to all your fish...do the specks look like salt grains sprinkled??? or do they look like gold dust sprinkled?? It could be ich or velvet...


  2. sounds like ich. I would keep it away from the other fish and treat it.

  3. He could possibly have ick. It's a common fish disease, but I'm pretty sure its not fatal. But you can find ick cure at any pet store.

    Even at some walmarts! But to be on the safe side, you should buy some good luck.
