Bleeding after birth?

I gave birth to my son 9 days ago. My bleeding went down a lot like next to nothing now about 3days ago I started cramping very bad and my bleeding got heavy again but its like thick an mucusy anybody have any clue y? Thanks

    Anyway, it could be the remains of the afterbirth and the plug and the lining. Give the doctor a call just to be sure.
