Bleeding after having a baby?????

Question

I had my 3rd baby girl on the 23rd August 08. I has now been 1 week and 2 days since her birth, and my blood flow has more or less stopped. Was wondering what others experiences have been with this.

Congrats on your new baby!! I had a vaginal birth and stopped bleeding nearly at 8 weeks, it wasnt heavy just light from around 3 weeks after she was born.

I bled for 6 weeks off and on. Just when it would slow down and I was thinking I was done it would start back up again.

Took me 5.5 weeks to stop bleeding... It would be light then heavy then light again...

edit: I had a vaginal birth 7/10/08

It took me 6 weeks to fully stop bleeding after my son.  It would lighten and get heavier.  I had a c-section though, so I am not sure if that is different than vaginal.

You seem to be lucky, lol.  I suppose everyone is different with this, depends on how long your body takes to heal.  I took over a month on my first and my second only took a week or so.  If I were you, I would be very happy!

well ive only had one child but i bleed for about a two weeks but the doctor told me that it was normal to bleed the whole 6 weeks... so its normal...

i had my daughter 7/30 & was bleeding for 3 weeks

I was the exact same way with my 3rd baby!!! It was a nice change, because I bled for 8 weeks straight with my first 2 children :-(

You're about normal.  It can take anywhere from 1-6 weeks to fully stop bleeding and you may have intermittent spotting for a while.
