Bleeding during s*x, not first time?

It was not our first time, but my boyfriend noticed i started to bleed a little during s*x. I was on my period for 3 days before but it had stopped like usual (last day was the day before and i usually dont have any spotting afterwards or anything like that), and the s*x actually hurt a lot which it usually doesn't. The bleeding stopped right away but then like 2 hours later or something I went to the bathroom and I realized I'd started bleeding again, a lot more than before. I put in a tampon cuz I didn't want to worry about it then, but now I'm starting to worry cuz I dont know if he broke something or if my cervix tore (is that possible?? dont really know much about it). Do you know why this might have happened? Or maybe its just my period hadn't really stopped?? Please help! Oh and i'm not on the pill or any sort of hormonal birth control (we use condoms dont yell at me for not using birth control).

  1. You need to see you GYN. You may have an ovarian cyst, there maybe an infection, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, to name a few. I have had many GYN problems .

  2. DON'T WORRY, LADY!

    Yes it's normal.

Most likely what happened was that some leftover menstrual fluid from your period was shaken loose during s*x.

Also, is the s*x was very rough, you could have hurt your cervix a little. If you didn't bleed excessively, as much as you would on your heaviest period day, then it shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Your cervix lacks many nerve endings, so it's basically numb, which is why you wouldn't feel if you hurt.

The s*x could have been more painful then usual just because of the angle, or even because it was so soon after your period and you were still very sensitive/sore. That happens to me on my period. Your v****a is one big muscle, and it can get sore during your period, and stay sore for some time after, making s*x hurt.

You probably started to bleed more later because you were standing up, and walking around, or you were just in more of an upright position. As when you get your period, this can make the blood that stayed up there while you were lying down come out of you. It probably happened sooner after s*x than you think, you just might not have noticed.

Oh, and no worries about the lack of hormonal birth control. I commend you on your condom usage. It's incredible how many people don't even use those.

In my opinion, condom usage on it's own is better than hormonal birth control on it's own. Pregnancy shouldn't be your only concern. STD's should be on your list as well.

Keep using condoms, as they will keep you safe from pregnancy, and STDs.

Back to the bleeding, if you find that it persists, see a gynecologist. It can be kinda scary if you've never seen one, but can be mighty helpful in the long run. Also, if it persists, don't be afraid to quickly get tested for STDs. This can be a sign that you have one, but most likely it isn't. Please don't let me scare you.

I'm sorry if I've seemed at all preachy, but sexual health is my job basically, so it's something I really care about.

I hope I've helped, and I wish you luck.
