Blimey O’Riley relishing to win Doctor Handicap
Blimey O’Riley is expected to add another epic triumph to his career chart when he lands into Salisbury racecourse to run for the ace title of the Betfair Funds The PJA Doctor Handicap today, May 24.
The Mark H. Tompkins possesses a terrific track record. Amazingly, he has won 4 of his total 10 starts so far. The veteran horse will capitalise on the form produced by his epic triumphs and seal another sterling success.
On the good to firm track of 1 mile, 6 furlongs and 21 yards, the maverick sprinter will face 10 strong rivals such as Monterey, Danvilla, Praxiteles, Sherman McCoy, Four Nations, Kangaroo Court, Miss Topsy Turvy, Hawridge King, Brett Vale and Sunny Future.
Blimey O’Riley marvellously accomplished a fabulous hat-trick from May 23 to September 27, 2008. The seven-year-old veteran runner grabbed another classic victory on October 21. He moved on to finish 7th in his last outing on October 28.
The Trevor Benton-owned gelding is awash with momentum and enthusiasm at the moment. This is going to be his maiden race at Salisbury. Unfamiliarity with the ground can be a little bit disadvantage for him but he will overcome this issue nicely.
Despite the fact that Blimey O’Riley poses to be the strongest candidate but Praxiteles is likely to wrest success from him.
The Rebecca Curtis-trained bay gelding has won 6 of his total 20 starts so far. During July 2011, the experienced horse bagged a couple of consecutive victories. He finished 11th against 13 competitors in his last outing on March 31, 2012.
Thus, there will be a fierce war between Blimey O’Riley and Praxiteles. Let us see who gains what.
Miss Topsy Turvy is also likely to do well in the race, eying on the second position. The John Dunlop-trained brown filly excellently won a race each on May 12 and July 29, 2011. She stepped ahead to grab a 4th and a 3rd spot in her
last two outings during October.
By and large, there will be a nail-biting clash in the Handicap. Let us enjoy the fantastic action. The race will draw a big bankroll.
