Question:

Blinkers for parallel parking?

I'm taking my driving test this friday. I know how to parallel park, but some of my friends have been telling me that I need to use my blinkers when I do it. Does anyone know exactly when to put them on and such?

Thanks =)

  1. Turn them on as you approach the parking spot, much like making a turn. Keep them on until you are fully parked.  Also, my instructor suggested that when I am backing into the parking spot, to turn and look out of your back glass, and to place your right hand on the back of the passenger seat while doing so.

    I guess this is meant to steady you, and help you to turn around all of the way in comfort.

    It really has been awhile since my drivers test, lol, but the only 5 points I was docked was for not using my blinker to parallel.

    Good luck, and remember, no matter what the book says, treat that YIELD sign like a STOP sign!

  2. As soon as you are starting the procedure, turn them on.
