Question:

Blisters/Bumps on my hands?

I've been having some bumps and blisters on my bumps, all because of tennis. Is it a sign that I am improving? :P

Anyway, the bumps are hard and they hurt for a day or two, and the blisters just hurt.. and eventually pop during tennis.

What do I do with the blisters/bumps?

  1. The bumps must be callouses. They form in a spot after you've had blisters a few times and it's good they form.. you won't have blisters again in the same spot.

When I get blisters, I just make a small hole and let the liquid drain and if it's on the finger I cover it with tape while playing. It hurts lesser that way. If it's on the palm, I doubt there's much that can be done other than just letting it heal or playing through the pain. When a blister forms, don't peel off the dead skin. It will hurt a lot more. It acts as a protective cover while new skin forms underneath it. After a few times, it will probably become a callous.

I have a callous on the lower left side of my palm that hurts a little. It's the part where the butt of the racquet handle rubs against my palm.

  2. First let your blisters/bumps heal before you go and play tennis again.

After your blisters/bumps have gone away go and find a better grip to put on your racket otherwise you'll just keep getting blisters.

I would just leave the blisters/bumps alone and let it heal by itself.

  3. i would try newskin.

it works good if you put it on before you play. and also tape it up and put neosporin on them. it will heal and eventually become hard calasses which means you are a tennis player :)
