My friend's ball python had 2 blisters on his belly. they seemed to be filled with pus or a type of liquid. they're gone now but were there for 2-3 days. They were about the size of a dime. We were just wondering if anyone knew what it might be or what would've caused it. thanks =)

  1. It sounds like blister disease. It is caused by lying on wet substrate or having an unclean environment.

  2. It could be blisters from burns - if your friend uses an UTH that is unregulated (no thermostat or dimmer) then it is very likely that it can get too hot and burn the snake.

Also, if the spots are brown and scales were peeling off it could be scale rot, caused by being in substrate that is too wet/unclean.

Either way your friend should take the snake to the vet, because either of the things above can be trouble if they are not properly taken care of.
