Blizzard speaks out on Diablo 3’s Endgame – Video Games Update
Recently Blizzard has been criticised for many of the decision it has made regarding Diablo 3, one of them being a weak end game due to which the player count of Diablo 3 has started falling rapidly as gamers are slowly getting bored of the game.
After finishing the game, players are forced to hunt enemies and grind for items in order to be able to play the game again on harder difficulties. Blizzard acknowledges that this is not a very satisfying end game and gamers will soon become bored when they
have done everything that there is to do which will lead them to stop playing.
Blizzard also stated that there are currently no major expansions planned like those of World of Warcraft by saying, “Diablo 3 is not World of Warcraft. We aren't going to be able to pump out tons of new systems and content every couple months. There needs
to be something else that keeps people engaged, and we know it's not there right now.”
Blizzard has also stated that they will be bringing out patch 1.04 for the game soon which will bring many fixes which will get players excited for the game again as they will have something to do while Blizzard works on a proper expansion.
The company was probably hoping that the Real Money Auction House would drive the players to keep grinding in hopes of finding rare items which they would’ve been able to auction for real money. A well thought out plan which didn’t work as the game’s player
count is dropping like flies and gamers are moving on to newer games.
"We have some ideas for progression systems, but honestly it's a huge feature if we want to try to do it right, and not something we could envision being possible until well after 1.1 which it itself still a ways out,” commented Blizzard on the possibility
of an expansion or downloadable content for Diablo 3.
Blizzard is also having problems with Linux users as emulation software called ‘Wine’ sets off a false positive in Diablo 3’s online anti-cheat system which has forced the company to ban the suspected users. It seems that Blizzard will not be able to keep
hold of the Diablo 3 gamers’ interest if it does not act fast and bring out an expansion pack quickly.
