Block web sites using hostfile on vista o.s.

Question

I can block web sites on xp but same method by typing notepad /windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts in command prompt in vista is not working. Please some one tell me how to block website on any browser on vista o.s.

and take the ownership of the original file

Disable UAC(User Account Control) and try it

You can disable in Contol Panel--------->User Accounts----->Turn on/off UAC.

Well you can also use some antivirus softwares like kaspersky and bitdefender internet security to block the websites..

And other exclusive softwares Parental Guard and others
