  1. The drain your waste water runs into is a back inlet gulley, it is a water trap like the one under your sink.Wrap a black bin bag around your arm and clear all the muck and debris from the drain yourself.

  2. if your house was built before 1927 its free contact your waterboard,if not you have to pay.

  3. Sounds like a job for Dyno rod....if you are in UK....ring them, they may be able to give you a quote, but I doubt it will be cheap.....you can get insurance to cover that sort of thing, but its a bit late for that now.

  4. call a plumber. if it's just a clog it shouldn't cost much.

  5. Try a little 'self help'...B&Q sell drain rods fairly cheap, but, never turn the rod in the drain....it will unscrew. To be effective with a rod, first without the plunger rubber....vibrate rod like machine gun, not a straight push. when you have a way through...water drains.... With water flowing (from hose) try plunger rubber (4" diam) on end of rods. if it re-blocks, repeat without plunger. If you get it clear, then go to Asda/Tesco, get ordinary washing soda, put 1kg bag in machine, very hot wash.... will clear any detergent fat from machine ....and drains.

  6. have u got drain  cover , if so then the i company will sort it out,

otherwise , is your home , got 1or 2 manholes

if   it's 1 then it is the water board , if 2 sole owned then  u are responsible, if u cannot afford it then go 2 e health ,

and they  will sort u out.

do not leave it , it can contaminate  ur drinking water,

see if ur manholes are blocked up , 1st

    then contact  s one ,

my dad's sewers collapsed ,and he was lucky i got i nsurance  on them for him. upto  his boundary,

you are soley responsible from ur hse into saddle of the

    of the road.

main sewers , everybody is nowdays.

apart from those who share there drains ,

    waterboard , cotact them.

it has just cost my dad £5, 500 to get his fixed,

    due to his gulley dropping,

all the lead pipes are eroding aswell ,so be on ur  guard .

    i have just sorted all this out;

drains , gas pipes mains waterpipes and sewers,

    so keep an eye out,

all lead pipes are now eroding , underground,

i have had to have the gas sleeved , watermains replaced

lawn dug up  1.7 metres ,into hse .

    sewers sleeved because they eroded.

it all started with a leak from the kitchen mains, it affected

the  damp course , jjoists , floorboards, kit units , and went

up the wal to over 1000%  in damp.

so keep an eye out , ok!

do not want it to happen to anybody else.

when we had new mains fittedw/ press went upand it made

the p shower leak , and seal on toilet go, i had water ru nning

    down the walls,

so we had2 have new shower , basin /mixer taps fitted

    aswell,

the council do not take any responsibility , even if it is on a

    pathway , outside ur hse,

and the insurance companys are crafty , so check all ur

    policys that u hold.

and phone up & check with them 1st.

and that is under ur home insurance policys.

quick enough 2 take ur money tho.

i asked them what do u cover, and was it worth the paper it

is written on. i got no answer to that question.

for the money , you pay  out , is it worth it!

it has been total h**l , trying to sort all this out,

but , i have done it , all by myself.

good  luck 2 all of u

    keep fingers x for u .

  7. Before you spend money for the sake of it, try a proprietary drain cleaning fluid from your local DIY shop. Nothing complicated you pore it down the drain, leave it half an hour then flush with hot water.

Jeyes make a good one that costs a couple of quid.

Kitchen sink drains are most likely to be blocked with cooking fats and pet hairs. Once you get some movement stick the garden hose down the drain and blast the c**p through.

  8. If this drain is an open type covered by a grid, and if your washing up water from your sink or dishwasher discharges into it, it is probably blocked with an accumulation of congealed fat trapping other particulate waste.

The blockage is unlikely to go very far into the drain so you could possibly clear it yourself (it's not a pleasant job) or ask your neighbours for the name of a trustworthy local "odd job" man. Dyno rod are good, but they are not cheap.

  9. Happend to mine all the time....get some gloves on or some kind of rod and have a good poke around....something is causing a blokage prob old bits of food leaves from the gaden etc that have built up...try putting bleach down the drain can help...dont call the experts until you run out of ideas they cost alot for doing nothing

  10. check the yellow pages there will be plenty in there
