  1. Simplest and best answer is to ask the river authority what you are allowed to use to protect your bank works.  You can rarely get a perfect seal for such a dam and usually you need to pump out constantly whilst the work goes on.  The potential pollution issues are many and the fine could be significant for you.

  2. platic sandbag simply cut the polithen into strips and tspr thrm to the bags make sure you use wp bags thaugh

  3. has anyone mentioned the federal prohibiting this sort of thing?,,im pretty sure the fine is pretty hefty,(my uncle was fined $10,000.00 for it like 12 years ago

  4. WHAT?! ---just picturing you in a boat with a computer, trying to block a river with sand bags.

  5. Hank, you need to use cotton sand bags, as plastic will be deteriorated by sunlight and freezing temperatures, and you will be left with a large sand pile, washing away, with only pieces of black or clear in it.

Styrofoam does not deteriorate, but plain plastic sheeting does.

    Dan
