Blocking websites for linux?

I have a dell machine running linux(fedora 5) at home, and i dont want my children visiting websites that they shouldn't be viewing. Well my question is how can i block those websites from being accessed?? This machine is a standalone with internet access.

    The author points out that it ain't a perfect defense, depending on the sophistication of your kids. You can make it harder, but I don't know how much effort you're able or willing to undertake.

    You do know that Fedora is several releases down the road from 5, right? I haven't migrated to 9 yet, since I like to allow six months to a year, before adopting the latest and greatest, but I am running a Fedora 8 box on my home network. 8 (and 9, if you're bolder than I) does offer lots more options and more modern software.


  2. Put the hostnames in /etc/hosts

    127.0.0.1 answers.yahoo.com  www.badsite.com badsite.com www.badsite2.com badsite2.com
