I'd like to block some websites on one of my computers, and I'd like to know how thats possible so that its blocked in all browsers?

  1. Here is one way to block sites that is browser independent, by modifying C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts .

  3. Sounds like you have someone in your house that is straying into the Red Zone on the Web.

    There are all kinds of products that claim to shut down access to objectionable material.  They don't work well.  You shouldn't  expect someone else to do your job.

    Don't let your kids have a computer in their room! Keep them out in the open while on the computer!  

    If it's your husband, have him email me and I will let him know how to better cover his tracks.

  4. This is rather easy to do and not many know how to do it.

    Tools > Internet options > Privacy > Sites > Block > then type the web address and click block, also you can change the option for deleting INTERNET history.

    You can also set a password for accessing these sites that are in your 'red zone'

    Tools > INTERNET options > Content > Create Supervisors password > Enable > General > Create Password. Then the person can not get on it with out the password.
