Blonde Barley surprised Yarmouth after giving a tremendous hit in the BAGS/SIS Final with 14/1 odds
A Kelly-Pilgrim’s hound, who was not placed in the heats as the most ideal racer, surprised everyone with his outclass hit. After the success of the first round, the young champ again, not being the idyllic hound of the show, grabbed the spotlight by winning
the purse in the BAGS/SIS Finals.
Blonde Barley, with odds of 14/1, was welcomed into the race through trap 5. Wearing orange and white jacket, the four-year-old surprised Yarmouth stadium with a fantastic performance.
Covering the 462 meters distance in the Grade A4 race, Blonde Barley confirmed his ownership for the purse worth £500.
As the brindle dog commenced through his trap with promptness, the hound caught everyone’s eyes as he railed through the pack of hound, with his abrupt pace.
While proceeding, he placed himself in the middle and eventually took the pointer position till he reached the finish line. He marched along the trail quite impressively until he got hold of the wire.
His win was cherished by A Kelly-Pilgrim, not only because he won the huge amount of prize, but he also accomplished in whitewashing one of his strong contender, Joe Premier, by six lengths, who was placed in the race as the most favourite player of the
show.
T W Hunter’s 13/8 favourite, Joe Premier, began his chase from trap 2.
The five-year-old black dog initiated his run with quite an amazing pace but as he surged through the trail, he got himself crowded. He tried hard to vanquish Blonde Barley, but his pace was not enough to do so.
Although he tried every chance to cope up with the hassle, nothing went in his favour. The five-year-old took 28.88 seconds to cross over for T W Hunter.
The hound who managed to finish third in the event was You Dont Listen, the 5/1 ideal of the race. The black b***h was placed in trap 6 to begin her chase.
As E G Samuels' three-year-old railed through the trail, she got wide. Even though she attained a chance to show a clear run, You Dont Listen was not fortunate enough to win the purse and concluded her quest in 29.04 seconds.
The ideal hound of the heats, Laketown Kian, tragically finished fourth by a neck distance for trainer I J Barnard.
The three-year-old started off with an agreeable pace, but as he marched into the middle, he suddenly got crowded.
The three-year-old, with odds of 6/1, took 29.07 seconds to conclude his chase.
Smartie Velvet, K W Thomson’s black b***h, unfortunately came fifth in the show. The four-year-old got bumped in at the fourth bend and later on she got herself crowded.
The situation went in over her heads so she took 29.10 seconds to cross over.
The last hound who assisted in concluding the show was E G Samuels’ black b***h, Karma Cloe. The four-year-old finished sixth by ¾ lengths.
The BAGS/SIS 500 Final entailed a total prize money of £750, out of which Blonde Barley took £500 home, while the rest of the hounds were given £50 each.
