Blonde Fletch and Mountjoy Orion triumph for trainer M. Wallis at Oxford
Oxford hosted some exciting races on 17th May, 2012, which were highly anticipated by the trainers, owners and enthusiasts of the sport.

It seems that among all the races, Blonde Fletch, was the star of the night as he delivered an exceptional race.
The son of Black Shaw, out of Glebe Stapler, already had the stamina and the speed, but the favourable odds were an added benefit in the Grade OR Greyfox Racing Stables Trophy, which he entered with a winning chance of 1-2.
The black hound, who is under the training of M. Wallis, used the opportunity well and landed the victory over the M. Walsh trained, Scala Cosey, by a considerable margin of 2 ¾ lengths.

He broke through the wire first in 39.96 seconds, completing the 645 metre track in an efficient manner.
The runner-up, daughter of Westmead Hawk, out of Malbay Sadie, completed the race in 40.18, whereas Kilo, who finished third, completed the race in 40.48 seconds.
This was the first victory of the season for Blonde Fletch, who was declared the 2011 Stayer of the year.
Wallis’s, Mountjoy Orion, was another cause for him to celebrate, as this hound aced the Grade OR Stadium Bookmakers 595 earlier the same evening.
The odds were advantageous for the daughter of Ballymac Maeve, out of Star Of Dromin, who raced with a shot of 5-4.

The b***h did not disappoint and swiftly covered the 595 metre track and took home the prize of £150.
The white and brindle b***h completed the race in 37.09 seconds, 3 ¼ lengths ahead of the M. Jeans trained, Farloe Orion, whose finishing time was 37.35 seconds.
The J. Rowe trained, Mall Return, completed the course in 37.39 seconds, and stood third. He narrowly missed the finish as a runner-up as he finished ½ a length after, Farloe Orion.
Mountjoy Orion made a great comeback in this after a rough season since this was her first victory of the season.

She is likely to perform in a similar manner in her races to come as she has tasted victory and will not stop at any point.
