  1. always take a brush with you

or tye it back losely for the jorney and untie it when you get there

get some serum and put a bit on after youve straightened your hair

  2. get a brush that has prickly ends and brush your hair when you get to school, or wear a hood or something, it'll help a bit

  3. Oil.  Not too much - just enough to cover the strands without it feeling greasy.

I've just answered a question on oil, suggesting jojoba or emu over olive oil.  Blonde hair is very fine and soft and while gorgeous, is prone to damage.  If you oil the ends first and then work it through towards the scalp until you can pull your full weight while brushing without tearing at tangles or it hurting.  That adds just a little weight onto the hair and also protects the little scales on the outside of each strand.  It also makes it less frizzy after washing.

Mechanical protection, such as tying back or plaiting in the wind, or covering the head might save a lot of bother too.  Once you are out of the wind, then you can free it and enjoy it loose again.

  4. I have the same problem... thin frizzy blond long hair in scotland... nah its never gonna end happily. ;-)

I always tie it up on the way to uni, then open it in the bathroom and brush it quickly. Wearing a hat totally makes it flat, so thats no use. And I hate carrying a brush but superdrug sells teeny weeny ones that are the size of 2 pound coins and fold out.

    Hope this helps!

PS: Oh and hairspray on the end product keeps it straight an extra 5 metres! ;-)

  5. you could put a scarf on your head on your way to school (nicole richie does this sometimes) to keep the wind from messing up your hair. you would just have to make sure that you don't rub the scarf on your head too much, or it will just go frizzy anyways.

another option is to wash your hair with a straightening shampoo and conditioner before you straighten, and use a straightening styling creme once it is dry. this should keep your hair straight, and the styling creme should keep the frizz away. i live in canada, but i am sure you could go to any place in the UK and ask about these products. Salons may even recommend the best products to use, but you may have to pay more for them there.

    Good luck!
