Blonde Snapper to strike a four for four in the Romforddogs.Com Standard at Romford on 9th March
Romford is to host the Romforddogs.Com Standard over 400 metres flat on Friday, 9th March. The £175 prize money will be battled over by Slick Sian, Hi Rumble, Nans Turbo, Blonde Snapper, All For David and Riverside Steve.
The most convincing entry on the lineup is Blonde Snapper, Droopys Kewell’s four-year-old black son out of b***h Rough Charley. Under training Mark Wallis, the four-year-old cracked into the new season by working through 26th January to 14th February.
He did not race at all in between. His first two work outs were at Yarmouth over 224 metres which was taken up by an additional metre at Romford on 7th February. Within a week, the bar of the distance was taken even higher with 400 metres drill on 14th February which Blonde Snapper covered in 24.07 seconds.
The hat trick that he achieved right out of the first three races he took part in was almost as if the couple of weeks’ training had diminished any chances of defeat or loss that might have existed.
Blonde Snapper’s seasonal debut was in the Coral On TV Trophy – Heat 1 on 20th February at Romford over 400 metres. The 10/11 favourite of the race clocked the track distance in 24.06 seconds. It was an excruciatingly narrow victory as the winner and the runner up were only at a shoulder’s distance. Droopys Bach was the runner up of the race.
Yearning for more success, Blonde Snapper once again did not spare the rest on the track in the Coral On TV Trophy Final on 24th February at Romford over 400 metres.
The 4/5 favourite winner took 23.91 seconds to get to the other end of the wire and yet again had Droopys Bach close at the heels, qualifying as the runner up after covering the distance in 24.13 seconds.
On 2nd March, Blonde Snapper completed the trio and bagged the hat trick after winning the Coral.Co.UK Standard at Romford over 400 metres. The ½ favourite winner of the race was through the track in 24.02 seconds and that also by an amazing 6 ¾ lengths.
Tonight is Blonde Snapper’s fourth outing of the new season and he has all the chances of dominating the field. Four for four is what the connections and the crowds are looking out for.
