  1. it is company discretion

  2. It is the company's choice so is even allowing you to go do it during work "on your own time".   Many companies do not even do that.   That is why before and after work and lunch hr are the busiest times at most donor centers.

  3. At the discretion of the company. You will be surprised how fast it will become policy to pay you

when the MD or someone close to him needs a blood transfusion

  4. There is not law that says a company has to pay you while you are giving a blood donation.  That is company policy and entirely up to the individual company.

  5. If we had a national (or local) crisis, the President could order it but that's not the case right now.

  6. It's at their discretion. There's no law that they have to pay you for time off for this.

  7. I think its to the companies discretion and blood donor sessions run out of work hours (or at least they do where i live) so really you don't need to take time off, i've donated 15 pints and managed never to have to miss work for it!

  8. company discression although you are allowed time off with pay usually to go for a doctor hospital appointment and the dentist

  9. It's totally at their discretion. This is not a medical necessity and therefor you can't take sick leave for it. You could holiday time if you want to get paid, most likely.
