I recently had some blood tests at my doctors. The results were as follows (UK measurements):-Serum Cholesterol - 7.1 mmol/lTriglycerides - 4.09 mmol/lHDL Cholesterol 1.1 mmol/lLDL Cholesterol 4.1 mmol/lI also had a Liver test and two numbers came out higher than normal:-ALT/SGPT - 49 iu/lGGT - 112 iu/lAdditionally I had a full blood count which was fine. My doctor suggested cutting down on the alcohol and retesting in 3 months. IM not a massive drinker and am wondering what these results mean? Have I damaged my liver? Is the high cholesterol related to alcohol? I do eat a good mediterranean diet.I would welcome other interpretations of these results. IM 47 male, non smoker and my BP is normal.
