Blood alcohol content question?

im 16 and about to get my license and i read that if your under 21 and you have a BAC of .02 then you can get your license taken away. and i heard a rumor that gum can cause your BAC to raise. also cold and flu medicine and aspirins can also cause it to rise up, is this also true? Thanks.

  1. Not aware of any gum that contains alcohol. Many cold medicines have up to 25% alcohol.Taking these and driving still counts as driving under the influence. No one forced you to take it and you should be able to read the container if you have a license.

I got a minor consuming charge when i was 18 and blew a .005 (keep in mind 1 beer will make you blow .025) i was ordered by the court to take an alcohol class. my teacher to prove a point of DONT PUT ANYTHING IN YOUR MOUTH gave me an altoid and had me take a PBT test. i blew .01 (twice what i got in trouble for). it all depends on your body chemistry but yes gum and mints can raise your BAC  

  3. BAC stands for Blood Alchol Conten, So chewing gum and taking cold medicine wouldnt change how much alchol is in your blood.
