Blood for gas...???

It might sound a bit harsh, but the American Red Cross is looking for volunteers willing to swap one precious fluid for another. With supplies dwindling, the Red Cross is taking the unusual step of offering donors a chance to win $100 gasoline gift cards between Wednesday and June 30.

Can you believe it?

Statewide in Massachusetts, one donor will be given a $100 gift card each day, to be used only for gasoline.

Since it takes time, effort, and transportation costs to donate blood, in addition to possible health effects, this is a good incentive.
