I am a healthy, fit young woman, and I had trouble getting pregnant, then when I did get pregnant I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. I heard that some blood groups are not compatible, what do you think?

(BTW hubby and I are both O+)

  1. O+ is compatable with O+. If this is your first pregnancy, chances are you wont have this problem again. Most first pregnancies end in miscarriage. One of you could have a chromosome abnormaility. Or, you could have a luteal phase defect or progesterone problem. If you dr. hasnt scheduled some blood tests, Id ask for some. Good luck!

PS: Blood types that 'arent compatable' I always thought referred to the RH factor -- a negative with a positive. The negative can build up antibodies against the positive, which could cause miscarriage, but both of you are + so you wont have that concern.

  2. If you are both 0+ than that shouldn't have been the reason.

It is when the mother is RH - and the father is RH + and it really only effects the second pregnancy.

I am RH- and my hubby is RH+, in my 7/8 month of my first pregnancy i had to get the rhogam shot.
