I have a yellow peach faced lovebird and just recently i have noticed that around her bottom she has a big patch of blood on her feathers. Also when i took her out of her cage i saw blood drop from her bottom too. She is about 2 months old. I also found this suspicious looking red thing on the bottom of the cage.

  1. Did you hatch this baby or purchase this baby?  Normal Lovebird babies don't wean until 8 weeks of age, so this baby lovebird shouldn't be in your home at this age.

It looks to me like it had a prolasped r****m and there was no helping it and it was bound to pass from not being taken proper care of by an avian vet.  It looked sickly in the top pic and should have been in a incubator on heat set at 92-95 degrees, but it would still have passed away.

    So sorry for your loss!!

  2. :...( I am so sry! that's terrible, I also have a lovebird....

I"m not sure what happened, you should probably ask a vet and explain the same thing to him...he might know what happened.

All I can say is that your bird may have had internal bleeding (maybe, i'm not sure)

    Again...I'm so sorry. :(
