Blood pressure medication?

my dad takes blood pressure medication because he has high blood pressure, but i was wondering what it would do to someone who doesnt need it.

  1. It will unnececessarily reduce your blood pressure and cause hypotension which has various clinical effects on different people, usually you feel dizzy, faint; rapid breathing, fatigue, paler skin, lack of concentration and in extreme cases shock, are some other clinical effects.

    There's a multitude of these medications available so there could be side-effects specific to that individual drug, which obviously once taken wouldn't cause any harm, only on prolonged intake you can know about other side effects.


  2. above answer is true for vast majority of blood pressure meds, but not "Lovaza", its prescribed for high blood pressure as well as high cholesterol/triglycerides, and its simply very potent fish oil.  although, high dose is needed for therapeutic effect, anyone can benefit from increasing omega-3's.
