Blood reading?

ok 1st and foremost..i would like to say that ive reli tried to figure this 1 out..but i just dont know..

my haematology teacher told us to measure 100 white blood cells and put them accordigly into basophils, eosinophils, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes and thus as percentage for each..

he told us to refer to our textbook which gives the normal person's reading of each cells quantity..

the thing is how the h**l can i compare when the readings in the textbook is in for example

neutrophils> 2.0-7.5 x 10^9/L ????

HELP me! ive already wasted mch time!!

  1. Normal WBC count = 4-11 x 10^9 /L

    You mentioned Normal Absolute Neutrophil count = 2- 7.5 x 10^9 /L

    So, the percentage count of particular type =( Absolute count of that type of white cells / total WBC count ) * 100

    For neutrophils, it would work out to be 50-75 % approx.

    Work out the percentages for other type of WBCs similarly.

    Compare the results obtained by these calculations with actual observation.
