Blood test - fasting?

okay so i'm going to the doctor soon, most likely getting a blood test to see if i have any kind of diabetes. i know about the fasting, but how can i not basically starve to death? if i don't eat i get extremely dizzy and i feel like i'm about to pass out ugh, will i just have to eat a loooott before the fasting starts? ha but i eat so much but then i feel empty an hour later :x

  1. It is not that difficult, and you will not reach to starvation.

    It is just between 6 – 8 hours only to get correct results, and pure water drinking is allowed during this period, so you will not feel anything.

    For more ease you can perform the test early in the morning and spend fasting while you are sleeping, so not feel that you are fasting.


  2. What time is your blood test? Normally when you do a blood test you need to fast at least 12 hours before doing it. When I did mine it was in the morning so once I woke up I could at least just stand my hunger for an hour before doing my blood test then rush off for breakfast. So I guess if it's possible, make an appointment early in the morning and sleep earlier so you won't feel too hungry later on. Eat more too the night before if you have to~ :D  

  3. If you're feeling empty an hour after eating, then whatever you're eating is not very nutritious. I found that by eating healthy foods, I stay satisfied for hours. Trust me, you won't starve to death. Your body can go for weeks on water alone.
