Blood tests, high blood pressure and the pill?

I am on the pill yasmin (been on it for over a year) and have been getting pregnancy symptoms (nausea, light headedness, fatigue, tiredness etc) but i had my period last week.. My doctor has just sent me to get blood tests for thyroid, full blood count, liver and pregnancy..

She also checked my blood pressure which is 147/75 (i am 19 and healthy)... Is this too high for my age? and also is it possible i could be pregnant on the pill and have had my period (that lasted 2 days)? Does this happen?

Thanks

  1. I got pregnant while on the pill (so it is unlikely but possible) I think that your blood pressure is way too high for your age and that needs to be watched very carefully.

  2. I think that blood pressure is high for your age. The top number at least. you should be 120/80 or below. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and my blood pressure was 100/60 at my last prenatal appointment (which i know is a tad low). I'm 23. Keep on that blood work to figure out why you are not feeling so well and having these symptoms. The blood pressure may be caused by the pill (which causes strokes in some women) Do you smoke? You need to take all of these things into account, and your doctor should be as well.
