  1. If you have already physically checked the animals over and can not find any source of bleeding, I would make sure that their cage and the general area around them is clean, and keep an eye on them for any more incidents of blood. Also keep your dog separated from them to rule out the dog bleeding/being a cause.

Rabbits do NOT have periods. They are always ready to mate. If you see more blood and/or if there is blood in their urine (which would be easiest to see if you clean the cage now and check later) it could be a serious problem and you should contact a rabbit-savvy vet.

For now just keep an eye on everything and check on them frequently and make sure none of their other activities/habits have altered.

  2. if they are femails, it is vary likely that they are having their "period". i have 6 gerbils, 3 of them femail and they have blood on the bottom of their cage, i asked the vet about it and she just said they are having their period, but i would get your rabbits checked up on just in case.

  3. If they're not bleeding, and your dog is upset, maybe they bit (or in some other way harmed) your dog, causing him/her to bleed. It would also explain the barking and whimpering.

  4. Are they females? If so are they spayed? One might be having their "period".

  5. well it could be ur dog bleeding, or ur bunnies could of spit up the blood. I would take them to the Vet, because the could have big problems and if u don't do any thing about it, well I'll just say it would be bad.

  6. Well I know one thing for sure, is that rabbits do NOT have periods. They can mate at pretty well any time because they are always in heat.

And yeah it could be the dog who was bleeding, maybe he got bitten or clawed or something, unless he was whimpering for some other reason.

Also sometimes rabbits have dark red pee because of something they ate or whatever, (so you might want to be absoloutely sure of whether it was actually blood or just dark red liquid) but if that was the case don't worry about it, it's not a problem unless if it goes on for days.

    Hope I helped!
