  1. Hi Carol sometimes you have to have the second scan as ?possible not much showed in the first?http://www.healthinfochannel.com/diagnos... do not get to involved as a little knowledge can be dangerous?http://www.answers.com/topic/blood-vesse...

  2. Carol, I'm not sure of what part of the body is being imaged, but no as long as you can tolerate the MR, you've got nothing to fear.

MRAs can be really, really difficult to interpret whether done by TOF technique or Phase Contrast (just different ways of acqcuiring images).  There's wayyy too much artifact sometimes to make heads or tails of pathology so sometimes we need to have a pt. called back for re-scan with Gadolinium contrast (very safe, non-iodine) virtually no cases of serious reactions, i.e. ridiculously rare, so no worries, nothing is necessarily "bad." Just images may have too much artifact.

We're still trying to make MRA's easier to read, but the complexity of it really will take time to sort out.  For you, there's no reason to think something is going on, it's more than likely MR-related artifact that you had nothing to do with 9 times out of 10.  So please don't get all nervous.

The Radiologist needs another scan so the pictures are a bit easier to interpret for whichever problem you're referring doc is trying to figure out.

Good luck, and don't sweat it!
