Bloodshot eyes from Computer?

Ok here's the problem...

I have owned and worked with computers for the past 10 years and never had a problem such as wrist strain or eye strain.. For the past two years i have been spending between 6 and a maximum of 14 hours in front of my computer screen per day and never had a problem.

But i recently bought a new PC (Kept the same LCD monitor ive had for the past 2 years) and my eyes are constantly bloodshot. They are ok when i wake up in the morning but by the time i go to sleep they are so red... The only thing new with the PC is its position in my room and the games I sometimes play are more graphically sophisticated then the ones im used to (DirectX 10 Games). Could this be the cause?

  1. Check your monitor's refresh rate in Windows. Slower refresh rates may cause more eye strain, and since you moved the monitor to a new computer, the new computer probably has the default refresh rate setting (60hz I believe). Other than that, your eyes do change over time. Take breaks! Use rewetting drops every hour or so.
