  1. pronounce her name 3 times infront of a mirror and she will appear...!!          =?=?=?

  2. I really don't know the story.

but it doesn't sound cool to me.

  3. all i know is that she got hanged if u want to learn more go to google.com

  4. She was the 4th or 5th wife of King Henry VIII, of England. She got nicknamed that because she executed a lot of people

  5. She was the Queen of Madagascar, with the real name "Ranavalona I (The first)", who came into power in 1828, and was dubbed 'Bloody Mary' because of the reign of terror that she caused.

Basically, she hated Christians, persecuted them, put them to death, and wanted to wipe them from the face of the planet. Some people say that she acted in a fashion very much similar to Emperor Nero. (Emperor Nero also hated Christians, and even burned followers of Christianity alive at the stake to provide light for his feasts...) She stopped baptisms, banned the reading / writing of the Bible, and would not allow any citizens to learn how to read or write (unless it was for a cause to serve her). Anybody who was suspected of being a Christian was arrested, and the majority of them were killed in the dungeons that she kept them in. 1600 Christians who were accused of following Christ willingly gave up their lives to die for the cause.

In 1859, Bloody Mary gathered together a group of 15 Christians, whom she wished to put to death. She suspended them all over a cliff by rope, and threatened to cut the rope if they would not worship the idol that she thrust at them. Every single one of the Christians refused to worship the idol, and were sent to their deaths 150 feet below. Every one of them died, except for one girl, who travelled to a distant village later in her life and opened a church =D ahah.

Bloody Mary died in 1861. PEACEFULLY, in her SLEEP. She was NOT hanged, contrary to popular belief... ^^ person up there says that.

Very ironically, the next ruler to take the place of Bloody Mary of Madagascar, was a CHRISTIAN =D. This new ruler (Ranavalomanjaka) declared Christianity to be the new religion of Madagascar, and Christianity flourished in the many years that she ruled..

Hope this helps your report = )

  6. The first queen to rule England in her own right, she was known as 'Bloody Mary' for her persecution of Protestants in a vain attempt to restore Catholicism in England.

Mary was born at Greenwich on 18 February 1516, the only surviving child of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Her life was radically altered when Henry divorced Catherine to marry Anne Boleyn. He claimed that the marriage was incestuous and illegal, as Catherine had been married to his dead brother, Arthur. The Pope disagreed; Henry broke with Rome and established the Church of England.

Henry's allegations of incest effectively bastardised Mary. After Anne Boleyn bore Henry another daughter, Elizabeth, Mary was forbidden access to her parents and stripped of her title of princess. Mary never saw her mother again. With Anne Boleyn's fall, there was a chance of reconciliation between father and daughter. However, Mary refused to recognise her father as head of the church. She eventually agreed to submit to her father and Mary returned to court and was given a household suitable to her position. She was named as heir to the throne after her younger brother Edward, born in 1537.

Edward VI succeeded his father in 1547 and, under the protectorate of the Duke of Northumberland, zealously promoted Protestantism. Mary, however, remained a devout Catholic. When it became clear that Edward was dying, Northumberland made plans for his daughter-in-law, Lady Jane Grey, to take the throne in Mary's place.

On Edward's death in 1553, Jane was briefly acclaimed queen. But Mary had widespread popular support and within days made a triumphal entry into London. Once queen, she was determined to re-impose Catholicism and marry Philip II of Spain. Neither was popular: Philip was foreign and distrusted and many in England had a vested interest in the Protestant church, having received church lands and money after Henry dissolved the monasteries.

In 1554 Mary crushed a rebellion led by Sir Thomas Wyatt. Making the most of her advantage, she married Philip, pressed on with the restoration of Catholicism and revived the laws against heresy. Over the next three years, hundreds of Protestants were burned at the stake. This provoked disillusionment with Mary, deepened by an unsuccessful war against France which led to the loss of Calais, England's last possession in France, in January 1558. Childless, sick and deserted by Philip, Mary died on 17 November 1558. Her hopes for a Catholic England died with her.

  7. Problem #1: If you'r so interested in her, why can't you even spell the name 'Mary' correctly? That sure doesn't show how much you want to learn about her...

Problem #2: If you want to learn about her, have you ever heard of the World Wide Web aka www??? If you have, you would have known that all you had to do was type her name down and links would appear. Apparently you're smart enough to get to YahooAnswers, but you can't spell Mary correctly or just search the name. I'm sure the internet could correct it for you, considering it's smarter than you.

  8. Earwen is right.  All you have to do is plug her name into the search engine on the same computer you used to ask, and you will get all the information you ever wanted.

However, it always helps if you spell correctly.  And if you want  the best information, you need to put her REAL name, or you're going to wind up getting recipes for alcoholic drinks, and terrible urban myths.

Her real name was Mary I of England, and NOT Madagascar...WHAT WAS THAT?!!  I don't think there was EVER a royalty of Madagascar, but now I'm going to look it up, just to be sure.  And she was NOT Henry VIII wife.  He never married  a Mary.  Three Catherines, two Annes, and a Jane.  No Marys.  She was his daughter, and died of natural causes.  Ovarian Cancer, to be exact.  No executions of HER, though she ordered a few, herself.

  9. I think she was a queen of england and she beheaded a lot of people. Check wikipedia

  10. "Bloody Mary" was Queen Mary I, who ruled England from 1553 to 1558.  The nickname came from the religious persecution and execution of Protestants during her reign (as a devout Catholic, her goal was to re-establish Catholicism as the dominant faith in England).

She was NOT (as one poster has stated) the fourth or fifth wife of Henry VIII - that was Anne of Cleves and Catherine Howard respectively.  Henry VIII was in fact her father.

  11. She was not very cool. She was called Bloody Mary because she had many protestants killed when she made Catholicism the national religion,

She was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon and saw her parents marriage annulled so her father could marry another woman (Anne Boylin I think) so he could try to have sons.

She married Prince Philip II of Spain and lived until 1558 when she died, probably of ovarian, uterian or pitutary cancer.
