Bloomington: Indiana housing question *Low income*

I'm 24 years old. I still live at home with my parents. I finally after a long 3 month waiting period, of job hunting, got a job that pays 7 an hour. This job last until the 18th, when I'm supposed to start another job that will be more full time, for a while at least, who knows with how things are going these days. It will pay 9:85 an hour to start.

As you can probably see from this, I am not making loads of money. But I need a place to live, seriously. And with the economy, it's so hard to find anything I can afford.

I got debt, so bad credit, obviously. And I can't start paying it off until I get money from this job, which I just started.

So how can a person in Bloomington Indiana, who has a low paying job, get help for housing, when she has bed credit, but is trying to do everything she can, but with things so expensive and the economy so bad. It's like so hard.

How can I find help? How would I go about getting housing help, so that I can have a place to live and afford an apartment or small rental house on my small paycheck, and still be able to buy food and things i need?

I know of section 8 and that's about it. But I don't know what I'd do to apply for it, or if there is anything better for my situation.

Anyone on Yahoo Answers know about this kind of stuff? Can you possibly help me?

Thank you.

Seriously trapped

  1. You will not qualify for section 8 or any other form of low income housing. Section 8 is for low income FAMILIES. You're just someone who needs to find a better paying job and/or a roommate or two.

No one OWES you anything you're not making an effort to earn on your own. If you can't afford an apartment, your ONLY options are stay with your parents (and pay them rent) or find a roommate to help with your own place.
