Blow drying problems?

i have naturally curly/wavy hair that i just dyed. when i went to the hairdressers he blowdried it and i watched his every move. however when i went home and tried it, it as usual, turned out poofy and frizzy. i've tried anti frizz and anti poofs. i use mouisture shampoos and conditioners. i've used the attachment nozzle and yes it has a cool setting but my hairdresser used the hot setting. and the blow dryer cost $200 so im kind of upset. i have a little below shoulder length hair. and what my hair dresser did was take a round barrel brush and straighten it except fr the ends which he curled in. i used the round barrel brush (one he gave me btw) but when i curled the hair up it like wouldnt come back down. the hair was curled around the brush but when i tried to bring the brush down and uncurl it like he did it wouldnt move. and no it wasnt knots because i combed my hair before hand. and yes i dried it in small sections. and please dont say "let it go natural" because i do sometimes" or "hes a professional you'll never get it liek he does" because yeah i know but i should be able to get close. it looked nothing at all like it. please help!

  1. You need a straightner. Like, a flat iron. That is the best thing I have ever foung for taking the frizz out of my hair. I wouldnt live without mine!

  2. Are you sure that you are using the exact same products that he used on you?  If that is the case, try blowing the hair the same way, but, before you remove the brush, use your cold shot button on your blow dryer and completely cool down the strand. Then remove the brush.  That might help.  The cold air will help to "lock" in the shape.  I know that you said that your stylist didn't use that, but, I'm saying that this might help.  If all else fails, make another appointment with him, and ask him to teach you how to do your hair.  Believe me.  You are his walking advertisement, and if you are walking around with your hair not looking right, it reflects bad on him.  He will help you.  Without actually watching you do your hair, I can't help anymore than this.

  3. Try not to put your hairdryer on a really high setting. High heat (the really fast air speed) makes my hair get weird, but the really low setting REALLY frizzes my hair out. If you've got coarse hair like me, try the middle setting. Or ask your hair dresser what type of hair you have and what setting you should use. It might seem like a minute detail, but it's very important.

    Hope this helped!

  4. using a round brush is really trick if you're not use to it. i suggest a flat iron, its much easier to use and you can still get the curl at the end that you're looking for.

  5. You seem to have all the answers, And you still can't do it, so don't ask. Go back to the hair salon and have him show you again. When he is drying your hair he is also pulling your hair down as he is drying it.You just can't roll it in the brush, you have to roll and pull down at the same time.
