Blower motor oil, or is it to late?

My central air has not been working very well for a while. I first noticed when it started squealing like crazy one morning, but it has worked on and off since then. It doesn't sound good when I run it now, and occasionally starts squealing again. I am pretty sure after removing the motor that the bearings are shot. I didn't know they needed oil until I pulled the motor, as that is the only way to access the two oil ports. (a stupid DIY show told me "If you don't see the access ports, It doesn't need to be oiled.") Well you can't see them without disassembling the whole thing.

OK, so in the 6 years since I moved in, it hasn't been oiled. Will oil do any good at all now? I'm guessing not. Also, should I buy a new motor, or can I just replace the bearings without too many special tools?
