The blower works on high speed but not on the lower speeds 1998 mercury marquis

  1. Replace the Resistor. When these fail the fan motor only works on the highest speed.


  2. Yes. It's the resistor in the blower switch. In high mode the resistor is bypassed to allow full current to the blower motor.

  3. THE VARIABLE SWITCH MAY BE FAULTY.
