Blowing up balloons can bring on labour. This surely cant possibly be true can it?

  1. Hi I have never heard of this one but becarful as when I was blowing up a balloon for my dads birthday I found to get really lightheaded and didnt have much puff to blow with. lol and then I felt sick afterwards, I have also got an inflatable bath pillow that you have to blow up and that did the same thing.

I would get a balloon pump to be on the safe side as you dont want to end up passing out lol

  2. I've never heard of this ..

  3. I wouldn't be too worried about it, but to be safe you can always buy a hand pump at a party supply store. I bought one for my sons last party it was only like 6 dollars and I didn't get lightheaded or have to taste the nasty balloons.

  4. Blowing up balloons 'in theory' (according to some women) is said to build up abdominal pressure which encourages labour to start. Whether its true or not is another question altogether (as nothing has been proven and could simply be just an old wive's tale), so its down to you I'm afraid!

  5. lol, dont worry, i've heard this too but its a old wives tale, enjoy ur little ones party, im sure baby will stay in there until due! xx

  6. I've never heard that but if you think about it it could make sense. Labor can be brought on by strenuous activity like if you get your heart rate up too fast or if you're stressed. If you blow up enough balloons really fast and you're a high risk I guess it could but it seems HIGHLY unlikely that it would do that to a normal pregnancy even if you lose your breath just going up stairs.

  7. Hmm ive never heard this one, but then go easy and do a few at a time as to not get light headed!

    have fun!

  8. I have not heard of this, but if your worried does anyone you know have a balloon pump, or maybe a bicycle pump to give you a head start.
