  1. Well, a blown vein is not normal. They infused too fast. It has happened to me and I know it hurts. Try putting warm/hot compresses on it for a couple of days. It will be painful for about 3-4 days. You'll probably be alright, just don't poke it or mess with it too much and keep it close to you (as not to hit it on anything). Did they give you any instructions when you left the infusion clinic on how to treat it? Unless you start getting streaks going up your arm and your hand starts getting hot and swelling then you probably don't need to call the doctor. Look at Web MD.com and see if there is anything there you can use.

  2. It will take a couple of weeks to go down and not to hurt. If you do not have normal motion of the hand in about two weeks then you must consult a doctor.
