Blu Lightning in form for dictating the Grade A1 420 metres at Peterborough
Blu Lightning is in form for taking charge of the Grade A1 420 metres flat at Peterborough on Wednesday, 13th June. Contesting alongside for the £98 prize money are Night Fever, Superstar Tina, Shades Of Nobby and Bonnan Bui.
Farloe Reason’s two-year-old blue son out of b***h, Muffins Mini, rolled into the season on 13th January at Shawfield over 480 metres in a Grade HP 480 metres flat.
Monsoon Max won by reaching the other end of the wire in 30.56 seconds and led Blu Lightning, by a length. The runner up took 30.64 seconds to settle the race.
Coming at terms with the third position was Gotoon Oola.
After missing three more races, the two-year-old was drilled thrice at Peterborough over 420 metres. On 22nd March, he timed the track distance in 26.16 seconds, took 25.98 seconds to settle the distance on 26th March and finally clocked
25.77 seconds on 2nd April.
Even that did not prove as effective as the trainer was expecting because Blu Lightning failed in three more races, scored second in two and ended fifth in one.
On 2nd May he won a Grade A1 420 metres flat at Peterborough by making it to the other end of the wire in 25.92 seconds. He led the 7/4 favourite runner up of the race, Mardi Boy, by 2 ¾ lengths.
He timed the track distance in 26.14 seconds and was soon joined by Aghowle Native.
His second success of the season surfaced on 23rd May at Peterborough over 420 metres. He clocked the track distance in 25.67 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Nova Star, by three lengths.
Settling third was Harry Up while the 2/1 favourite of the race, Superstar Tina, finished fifth.
His most recent race and success was in a Grade A1 420 metres flat on 8th June at Peterborough. Blu Lightning covered the track distance in 25.66 seconds and took charge of the final two and a half lengths. Settling third was the 5/4 favourite
of the race, Baycity Joe, who took 26.38 seconds to make it to the other end.
His chances of succeeding tonight are quite concrete.
