Blu Ray Disc on Standard Definition TV?

Does the graphics of a Blu Ray disc compared to a regular dvd show up on a standard definition tv? I mean like do you notice the differenceon an SDTV?

  1. You really can not notice a different in Picture.  A SD TV just can't do it.    (Sound and Content is a different story.)  

    Think of it as your grandmother watching HD without her glasses.   It is just a waste.

  3. No, because if your SDTV has component it will only go as high as 1080i because component will not go up to the native full HD 1080p. On an HDTV you will see a way better quality in picture and better sound, because on a HDTV it has HDMI which goes up to 1080p.

  4. SDTV resolution is 480i so whether your input is a regular DVD player or a Blue Ray player you will still only see 480i resolution.

  5. You can watch blu-ray on a standard def TV, but why would you want to?

    The resolution on a standard def TV is too low to notice any difference.
