Which is better for video quality. I want a blu-ray player, and the PS3 is competative in price. But is the video quality better or worse on the PS3 than on a regular blu-ray player?

  1. If anything, the PS3 may have better quality because it supports blu ray profile 2.0 which is the "next gen" blu ray features. But there is probably no noticable diff. If you're just wanting a good BR player, just get the 40GB PS3, it's only $400, and it's one of the cheapest and best players on the market.

  2. Not much different if you compare PS3 to a newest model. So you should go for PS3.

  3. The PS3 is considered to be among the best (if not the best) player on the market right now.  Especially when you consider that it's the only Blu-Ray 2.0 compatible player available.

The PS3 has more processing power than any other blu-ray player on the market, which is why it can be easily upgraded in this manner.

And, as a bonus, it plays games.
