what is the difference between blu-ray and HD DVD??

Blu-ray has alot better quality than HD because the eye is so fine that it reads the disc and projects the picture almost perfectly on the screen creating a seamlessly perfect image.

Mainly politics between the two formats.  Just like the old war between VHS and Batamax back in the late 70's.

Who will win the war?  Well if Warner Bros. has anything to say about it (not to mention Hollywood Video), Blu-Ray is positioning themselves to overtake the market.  You can already begin to see it in the pricing between the two players.
