Question:

Blu Ray sound problem on one movie?

We bought a Sharp Blu Ray Disc Player. On only one movie - Underdog - we have sound issues. The movie starts and the sound is just fine thru all the previews, etc. Then, when the menu comes up for Play, Special Features, etc, the sound will stop at the exact spot each time. We took the DVD back to the store, exchanged it for another one and we are still having the same problem. We stopped the DVD, then pushed play again and the sound started, then stopped again, but the picture keeps going. Any suggestions on what this might be? We do not have this issue on other movies at all.

  1. Try to go to audio set-up menu of the DVD and change the soundtrack.  The player might be defaulting to something your TV/Processor/Receiver can not decode - like LPCM, DTS-HD, etc.

    Try regular Dolby soundtrack

  2. If the sound during the movie is fine and this only happens on the menus I think this is somewhat normal as some blu-ray players don't have enough memory to handle all that information on those menus.

I get the same problem with some of my blu-ray discs. I think it has something to do with the Java software or Blu-wizard menu technology....I don't know...but I have an LG player and I get the same kind of issues with Spider-man 1-3 and Fantastic 4 Rise Of The Silver Surfer.

  3. Take it back to the store and get a complete refund...I had issues like that with a regular DVD a couple years ago...here it was a problem with that stores whole shipment of that particular movie...that could be your problem!

Try buying it from another store...still have the same issue than call Sharp and inquire

  4. ask the company
