  1. NO they wont blu dvds and HD dvds have regions codes.

B is for UK and A is for USA

get a blu ray player if you havent got it yet as HD players will soon be obselete as most US film studio's are backing

    Good Luck

  2. I would think so but Im not positive.  I dont see why not

  3. hd dvd disks are region free.  some blu-ray disks are not.  however the same dvd region rules apply for all high def set top boxes for standard dvds.

  4. Basically, it depends.

The HD-DVD format itself has no region coding in it's specification, although that could change in the future (if the format even lasts).

The Blu-Ray format has a 3 region code system (A, B, and C).   The US falls under region A and the UK/Europe falls under region B.

HOWEVER, not all Blu-Ray movies are region coded. In fact I do believe the majority of movies that are released are Region Free.

On the flip side, there also exists the NTSC/PAL problem.  As you may know, us Yanks use NTSC with his 30 frames per second, while Europse used PAL which is 25 fps. A HD-DVD might be regionless and a Blu-Ray disc could be region free, however if it's not a 24p film, but something like a TV show that may of been shot at 25fps or 30fps, said disc still may not work in both the US and UK.
