Blu ray camcorders?

Question

what blu ray camcorders are around. I particularly want sony but would like to know all blu ray camcorders around from all companies.

As far as i understand it there aren't any Blu-Ray camcorders, there are HD camcorders that record to either tape, hard drive and disc but I don't think any of the HD-disc type confirm strictly to the blu ray standard.

Even the pro broadcast cameras such as XDCAM HD are not bluray.

Hi Matt.

Sony don't currently have a range of Blu-Ray camcorders, they do however have a range of HD camcorders that record onto different types of format including inbuilt hard disk drives and also Memory Stick.  They also have a camcorder that can record HD video and sound on a standard 8cm DVD disk.

If it is a Blu-Ray camcorder that you want it would have to be a Hitachi. They were the first to develop and release a Blu-Ray camcorder last year, and they are still the only ones available, they start from around £425 though there is limited stock around at the moment.
