Blu-ray disc?

if i play a blu ray disc in a regular TV will it have a better picture quality then a regular dvd?

The only way of playing and getting better quality

from a DVD is by using HDmi,high definition in

my opinion is by this format and not Blue ray.

PS it even enhances ordinary DVD`s

Very little, it will slightly bump up the resolution but only if you are using composite cables

No blu ray which is a high definition picture can only be seen and appreciated on a high definition tv. Your normal tv will only have about half the amount of lines a high def tv will have therefore youll see no improvement. Also all blu ray players have a type of cable connection to the back of the tv called an HDMI. Only current High def TVs have this connection so youll probably find it very hard to connect to an older tv. Altho u can connect through component cable but will not be true high definition.

"Of course the picture will improve. it will be fantastic and be almost like your really in the film, infact theres no need for people to be spending all this money on high def Tv's. Its all a big con and you should hang on to your old CRT as the picture is EXACTLY the same"  *sarcasm....
