Blu ray disc scratch?

somehow the top part were the image is printed on to the disc has started to flake off will it still play is it safe to put into ps3 ?

It should be safe to play, but I doubt it will, since the label is coming off, so is the reflective surface, required for the disc to even read to test and run, so the disc is pretty much useless
