Blu-ray dvd player in playstation 3?

is blu-ray in playstation is a very low end type of dvd player...i mean if you wanna out put solid blu-ray dvd performace..is ps3 just good enough or u recommend buying a new blu-ray player separately?

The Playstation 3 is a very good Blu-Ray DVD player and isn't a "low end" model in any way. Sony is known for hardly never making entry level products, they only make the top tier products.

Also, the PS3's Blu-Ray capabilities can be upgraded via Software updates and add's new features to the PS3's Blu-Ray features. As a matter of fact, the last update in December 2007 included a Blu-Ray update for the Playstation 3.

However, stand alone Blu-Ray DVD players can't be upgraded via Software updates.

I recommend you get a PS3 it's like buying a top of the line Blue-Ray player and getting a free game system, web browser and entertainment system. Also if you buy a PS3 you can be future proof and can download updates, patches and have the latest features and bug fixes if needed. You can't do that on a stand alone player.

Actually as long as you have a HDMI hookup between ur PS3 and HDTV the quality is amazing!!! As a video director and a graphic designer I have an eye for these sort of things. The only thing that will hinder it will be the quality of the HDTV and not the quality of the Blu Ray, which is Excellent quality.

PS3 is constantly updateable, middle of the line with costs of other blu-ray players, and the most bank for your buck.

I suppose some of the Blu-Ray players out now can update with an internet connection, but you can rest assure PS3 is future proof.

um the ps3 has hdmi and it's made by SONY so i'm guessing it's a quality blu ray player.  i've also heard that the ps3 is very quiet (the fan runs rly soft during dvd playback) but you should confirm that before buying

plus if you want the blu ray remote that's extra money
