Blu-ray on a 32 inch 720p HDTV?

Do Blu-ray movies have a huge difference over an upconverted DVD on a 32 inch 720p HDTV? I heard that Blu-ray only is worth it if you have a 1080i/p TV. Please help.

  1. Blu-ray resolution can be set to either 720p or 1080p.. forget about the "i" that sucks. If ur tv is a 720p, blu-ray will look amazing, much better than the upconvert, at least as far as sharpness goes. So to answer ur question YES! Plus you'll get better surround sound from the blu-ray if u have one set up.
