Blue Artisan aiming a hat trick in the Truframe Greyhound Stud Book Trophy 2012 Heat 1 at Monmore
The Truframe Greyhound Stud Book Trophy 2012 Heat 1 will be held at Monmore over 480 metres flat on Thursday, 31st May. Contesting for the £175 prize money are Jazz Apollo, Westmead Melanie, Blue Artisan, Townbrow King, Supreme Chalkie and Big
Bad Brad.
The most convincing entry for the race is Blue Artisan, Droopys Maldini’s four-year-old blue son out of b***h, Poolie Pride. Nearly half the season he has been getting trained. After taking 16.69 seconds to complete the 275 metres trip at Doncaster on 13th
January, he was declared not raced in his seasonal debut.
The declaration led to three more training sessions, two at Newcastle and the very last one at Shawfield. On 1st March he concluded the 290 metres distance in 17.26 seconds. It took him 28.75 seconds to complete the 480 metres track at Newcastle
on 8th March.
The trip on 21st March took him 29.66 seconds to accomplish the task.
The sessions proved to be futile as the four-year-old ended fifth in the race that followed the drillings. It was in Bettor.Com Scottish Derby 1st Round Heat 3 on 31st March at Shawfield over 480 metres. The race was won by Boher Paddy.
Blue Artisan remained unsuccessful in the next two races and then finally struck the first success of the season. H. Williams’ under charge won the Williamhill.Com Standard at Newcastle over 480 metres on 21st April by timing the track distance
in 28.87 seconds. The 5/4 favourite winner led the runner up of the race, Droopys Luisao, by a length.
Settling third behind the winner was Paradise Aruba.
The next two attempts resulted in a second and fourth position.
On 12th May he won the Williamhill.Com Standard at Newcastle over 480 metres. The 4/6 favourite winner reached the other end of the wire in 28.67 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Denwill Star, by 4 ¼ lengths.
His third and till yet last success of the season was in a 480 metres race at Newcastle on 22nd May. He raced across the wire in 28.37 seconds and took charge of the final 2 ¼ lengths. Finishing the closest was Pond Shefelia.
He has all the chances of striking a hat trick tonight.
